A Victory for Common Sense and Integrity

Reader comment on item: On Being Borked

Submitted by Shoshi Bacon (United States), Aug 27, 2003 at 14:10

Although generally removed from the political process, I called Senator Kennedy's office several weeks ago and had an angry exchange with a staffer who tried to con me with their disingenuous obfuscation of Dr Pipes' position.

This is a great win for those of us who understand that there can be progress toward peace in the middle east, that regular everyday Muslims are as much the victim of the Islamists as the rest of us, and if speaking softly does not solve problems, we must be willing to brandish a big stick. Militants understand war and death, not negotiation and compromise.

Congratulations, Dr. Pipes.
