The Study of IslamReader comment on item: On Being Borked Submitted by Michael Burkert (United States), Aug 27, 2003 at 05:45 I lived and studied four years, in the Gulf States. I was fortunate in that I had access to many Imams, Mulluhs and Muftis. I studied the Koran with some excellent teachers. My conclusions parallel those of Daniel Pipes.Although I am not a published author as he is, I have been held to ridicule and abuse by my peers and contemporaries in the organization in which I am employed -- a US Government organization by the way, that should be listening to what I have to say, and others who see throught the sham of "Islam being a religion of love and peace." It is not! It never has been, nor whall it ever be. Don't believe me, read the 5th and 9th Surrahs of the Koran. You decide. Words mean things. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
