See, when you assume it makes an ass of you. From my memory of school & college the history that is taught is accurate. We do have the attitude that we entered WWII and made a difference. If we had not, all of Western Europe would be eating wurst & sour kraut probably by now. Now this statement is of course speculation but I belieie it to be true , and many Europeans whp lived throught that time will probably agree . So if I were you, please do not assume.
