Reader comment on item: Why does the world hate America?

Europe and other "allies" perceive that the USA desires love and appreciation for our generousity. They sense that it is important to us to be appreciated. We have assumed responsibility for the well-being of those who would be best left to build their own state of being. We would be better in the eyes of the World if we were more stand-offish. Let 'em fend for themselves in all affairs!
