Teaching Islam in Public Schools

Reader comment on item: Spreading Islam in American Public Schools
in response to reader comment: Response

I don't usually get involved with online "tennis matches"--over any subjects, but I'll make a few more final statements about Islam, then you can "play tennis" with some of the other comments on this site about teaching Islam in Public Schools. First, Islam is the antithesis of Christianity, and I would not permit any of my children of any age to be forced into the teachings of Islam at ANY level!

I read the Qur'an over 46 years ago. ONCE was MORE than enough! The Qur'an has many "mirror images" of the Bible. The claim by Muslims, that they worship the God of Abraham is hypocrisy! The God of the BIBLE "LOVES Christians and Jews"--The "Allah of Islam" REWARDS the MURDER of Christians and Jews with martyrdom and other fairy-tale nonsense. In other words, Islam implies that God is a "Fence straddler!" And we can't forget Muhammed, whom Allah sent to clean up the mess that Jesus left!

My experience with Muslims has been with the Govt.--military--and with Saudis and Iranians during the times of the Shah. No use wasting talk on my experiences vs. yours.

Referring to your "brainwashing"... was nothing more than a metaphor. Also, you may think I'm some sort of "wild religious Christian"--praying on street corners..."everyone is a sinner," etc. I am a CHRISTIAN, and have lived my entire life via the Ten-Commandments, which has given me a wonderful life. HOWEVER--I do NOT belong to ANY Church of ANY denomination.

Finally, since you seem to like never ending research on subjects like this, I'd recommend two books that you'd find interesting. Then, you can take issue with the authors!

"The Bible and the Qur'an"--by Jacques Jomier, O.P.--Ignatius Press, S.F.--and "The Sword of the Prophet"--Islam: History, theology, impact on the world"--by Serge Trifkovic.

Goodbye.
