Making colonisation appear indigenous!

Ingenious though isn't it to make what was the colonisation of Jerusalem by Islam appear as an indigenous religious presence.!

But even geniuses and even some deities can make eschatological mistakes. To shift the prayer direction to Makkah denigrated and demoted Jerusalem. It also illustrates the abrogation modus operandi of the god Allah, and thus the later political and religious attempt of Islam to erase the older Jewish presence in Jerusalem.

Mohammad was aware of the importance of Jerusalem to Jews and his thus earlier attempt to curry (or is that "hummus") their favour by praying in that direction (as Crone etc have revealed in their research of early mosques built by Muslims.)
