Jerusalem has always been referred to as The City of David, capital of Judah and the united monarchy; holy city of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It does not belong to Islam alone. Solomon constructed the temple in the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had left Egypt. He constructed the temple and brought the Ark of the Lord's covenant from Zion, the City of David. This is where God promised to dwell and his name to be put there forever. This is God's holy city and dwelling place, and it seems there are those who are trying to discount this biblical truth for their own purposes.
