About claim of Pipes casting aspersion on credentials

Reader comment on item: Jihad: The Fight Over Meaning

Submitted by lila imas (United States), Jun 14, 2002 at 05:26

When Cris Bury admonished Pipes for casting aspersion on the Arab speaker' s credentials, Pipes was only answering the Arab who previously questioned Pipe's credentials to speak, when he implied that no one can tell Arabs the meaning of Jihad. Pipes was, as usual, brilliant. I find that when I read these interviews, that Pipes is not allowed to get his points across as much as the Arab spokesman. .But he therefore always makes each word count.
