Dr. Hathout's Lies

Reader comment on item: Jihad: The Fight Over Meaning

Submitted by M Hanna (Egypt), Jun 6, 2002 at 09:26

I am 60 years old and I lived in Egypt all of my life. I am a well educated engineer. Arabic is my first tongue. I have read the Quran, the Profit's biography, the Hadieth,.... all are basic sources of the Islamic religion, history and tradition.

Dr. Pipes is exactly right. Jihad always meant, still means, to wage war on non Muslims, use force to islamize Jews and Christians. There are a number of Quranic verses and Hadith verses proving that beyond any doubt. If Dr. Hathout is interested, I will gladly submit these verses and we'll see what he says about it.
