What sayest Nato?

Reader comment on item: NATO Fights the Jihadis

The trouble with Nato respectfully,is that they are not exactly battle tested. At least not against a big fight. This is not to say that the United States and often Britain dont go to bat. It will be a little tricky fighting as a unified group when the problem comes down to - did that Islamic terror incident represent a warlike act against a member, or a crime or local like act.

I can argue all day that it should be considered a warlike act, but will Nato take a stance for Israel its newest member hypothetically speaking,or call the incident a local, problem of resistance when it suits them? Lets have a practice run on this issue and see how it plays out. I'll start with a real easy one. It surely can be concluded that friends of Nato countries that still refuse to recognize Israel are for the sake of Islamic Jihad, harming and complicating peace in the middle east simply by being "kinda like the bad guys". Being for instance that the Palestinian Authority of all people recognizes Israel and deals with Israel, exactly why are Saudi Arabia,Kuwait,Libya,Tunisia and Morrocco not in "full diplomatic relations with Israel? "Are they more Palestinian then the Palestinians? This is an easy battle to win for Nato I would think.

With israel currently not being in Nato, why cant Nato led by the United States express to these countries,(with teeth) that in the overall, their quarantine attitude of Israel is having a noticeable and negative effect on the minds and hearts on the miidle east people, and thus the security of the Nato member states. On a fight together scale of one to one hundred ,this would rank a one. What sayest Nato?
