Thanks for your clarification.

I think the American consciousness is "insulated" as you describe. It is insulated from the truth by so called "experts" and political rhetoric.

The American people are bombarded via the media with ideas each day. They've been taught to listen to what the so called "experts" say, including politicians and their spokesmen.

They've not been taught about their heritage and what is required to keep a Republic, such as ours, at liberty; Much less what it takes to be in a position of leadership and responsibility on the world stage.

The public's discernment is typically based on falsehood, spin, hype, and rhetoric. They tend not to read books about Islam, or anything else they're not studying.

On the other hand, there is a wealth of information being produced which continues to develop -including many good books, websites, media and classes on Islam, particularly fundamentalist radical Islam. All of this is available to the American citizen and leadership and there are certainly a good number of people who are getting more educated.

I am reminded that at the time just prior to and during the American war of independence it is said that 1/3 of the people were for independence and supported the effort, 1/3 of the American people supported the British Crown, and 1/3 of the people waited on the sidelines eager to follow whoever emerged with political power. I don't think those groups were actually divided into 1/3 portions, but I would be very interested to understand more the actual size of the respective groups were. There were alot of Tories.

I think a similar phenomena is underway in America with regard to understanding radical Islam. I suspect the word will continue to get out and the truth of radical Islam will continue to further reveal itself until it becomes more starkly understood.

At that point, American thinking will galvanize. And at that point we will have clarity. At least among the citizenry.

Pray that in addition to clarity we have leadership.
