Reader comment on item: The Scandal of U.S.-Saudi Relations

Submitted by Briton living in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Jan 15, 2003 at 02:20

If you want to see the real scandal of Saudi-American relations, check out the websites of the two Saudi English language dailies:

www.arabnews.com
www.saudigazette.com

Every article written in Saudi Arabia is approved by the government censor, and by default, therefore enjoys official blessing.

The daily doses of anti-Western propaganda poured out by these publications plays a huge role in creating anti-Americanism. The Saudi Gazette even once published an article stating that eating pork is bad for you "because you are what you eat".

Draw your own conclusions from that!
