Repulsive actions

Reader comment on item: The Scandal of U.S.-Saudi Relations

Submitted by Carol Skaggs (United States), Jan 13, 2003 at 02:11

That officials would sell out their own citizens and the ideals our country was founded on is replusive. US officials who 'served' in the Kingdom should be barred from accepting money from them, lobbying for them, or working to represent them until 10 years out of office. Those schools who accept money from them should be required to forfeit that money as well as pay a fine, should they discriminate against American citizens as a result of receiving that money. Additionally, just as there are limits on the money politicians can accept as donations so as to avoid the appearance of being bought or controlled or influenced, so too there should be *something* we can do concerning Kingdom donations to universities, and etc., for just the same reason.

What is equally repulsive are the leftists here and in Europe who have called for divestiture against Israel based on their 'aparthied' policies against the Palestinians, which is nonsense of course. Yet these same lefties say nothing about the apartheid policies of the KSA! Total hypocrites.
