For one thing, we don't seem to have as much guilt as Europe. Some on the left have the guilt, but they are only about 20% of our population here--40% conservative and the rest moderate. Europe seems so different in their mindset than the US. Unless the Republicans get their act together here, I look for the Dems to take control of the House and possibly the Senate in November. Then Bush will get nothing done for the next two years. I don't know how any of that will affect our foreign policy; we will also have new national elections in 08. So, I don't know what will happen to us either. But, right now, I'd still rather take my chances in the US than be in Europe.
