Dear Mr. Pipes,
You didn't mention the main reason that the Arabs feel they are "on a roll." It's the worldwide support they enjoy in the media, in the international organizations, in Europe (the largest financier of the Palestinian Arab terrorism), Russia, UN and now in the US after President Bush has been educated in the Middle Eastern politics by Saudi Prince Abdullah.
This support and legitimization of their terror campaign against Israel has allowed the conflict to continue throughout all these years and it will certainly continue unless this support ends, which is unlikely.
The more Israelis they murder, the more Israel is condemned by the 'international community'. No voices of condemnation of the terror, no Security Counsil resolutions to condemn these most barbaric acts; on the contrary, Israel is condemned for self-defence. The Arabs know full well that Israel will not be allowed to win, and it gives them the sense of near victory.
