I wish I could concur with your optimistic view that the Palestinian people and their leadership will somehow come to realize that their terror campaign isn't having the desired effect and that they will change course. Maybe you're reading different tea leaves than I am but I see just the opposite happening. I think the pace of attacks will pick up as the summer proceeds. Hamas, Islamic Jihad et. al ad nauseum aren't going to suddenly become rational. As you are so fond of telling us, these folks are religious fanatics not secular nationalist or socialist. They aren't acting rationally and I expect more irrationality. Israel is just 1 stop on their conquest of the Earth and like all meglomania the only way to stop it is with force. When these people are so ground down they are cheering our soldiers as liberators then we'll know we've won. The problem is Bush,Sharon et. al. think half measures are going to defeat a huge hostile population of 100's of millions of Islamic fascists. I believe it was Herr Goebbels who was quoted as saying that if the 3rd Reich ever needed a religion for its subjects, he felt ISLAM was much more suited to a fascist state than Christianity!

War with this posioned well (Int'l Islam) is going to nasty and long and the sooner GWB, Putin ,Sharon and the rest of them see who is the enemy, the better things will get. Personally, I'd cut the head right off the snake from the get-go as they say and take over Saudi Arabia, depose the evil regime that has run it for 150 yrs. (the Saudi family), stick King Abdullah II of Jordan's Hasemite back on the throne, turn over the holy sites to him, and move onto the next target. Saddam!

What's power for if you're not going to use it? Our enemies know as well as we do that the victors write history and 1 of my favorite passages from recent history is the flight of the Enola Gay.
