Allah is NOT a moon God

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

The Arabs are descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael. They professed the religion of his father Abraham. Quran says that Abraham is instructed by Allah to take his son to a hill and to sacrifice him but Allah stopped Abraham from completing the sacrifice, but Abraham had proved his total devotion. He was the first true believer in the One Allah.

They had worshipped Allah, professed His Oneness and followed His religion a long time before worshipping idols. An idol (Hubal, titles as a moon God by evangelical Christians) having a shape of a man was brought from Syria to Mecca and placed inside of Kabaa built by Abraham for Allah. Every tribe, and house, had their own idols, and the Kabaa was also overcrowded with them.

A divinatory tradition among the pagan Arabs was using fortune arrows to decide what to do in case of serious matters like travel, marriage etc. In cases of doubt in filiation they would resort to the idol of Hubal, with a hundred-camel gift, for the arrow caster. Only the arrows would then decide the sort of relationship. If the arrow showed (from you), then it was decided that the child belonged to the tribe; if it showed (from others), he would then be regarded as an ally, but if (consociated) appeared, the person would retain his position but with no lineage or alliance contract.

On the Prophet's conquest of Mecca, 360 idols were found in Kabaa. He broke Hubal together with all the idols down and had them removed and burned up.

Pagan Arabs didn't forget the religion of Abraham completely. They knew Allah, as written in Quran:
If you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" They will surely reply: "Allâh." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)? (29:61)

They were thinking that angels were daughters of Allah, which is refused in Quran :
And they assign daughters unto Allâh! Glorified (and Exalted) be He above all that they associate with Him! . And unto themselves what they desire; (16:57)

They believed that their idols was helping to Allah which is refused in Quran:
They(Al-Lât, Al-'Uzza & ) are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allâh has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! (23:53)

All Muslims follow the religion of Abraham they face Mecca for all prayers to Allah because they believe that Abraham built a special building there, the Kaaba, on instructions from Allah.

Muslims recite the following prayer during their prayers five times a day:
O God send your Mercy on Muhammad and his posterity as you sent Your mercy on Abraham and his posterity. You are the Most Praised, The Most Glorious. O God, send your Blessings on Muhammad and his posterity as you have blessed Abraham and his posterity. You are the Most praised, The Most Glorious.

Therefore, Allah is the exact same One and Only God that Jews and Christians believe in.
