Four groups of Muslims

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

An important fact about the Muslim community is that the ordinary Muslim who is only somewhat familiar with quran and carefully selected hadiths does not know historical Mohammed (since Quran has no info about his life and religious heirarchy hides the hadiths about Mohammed's attrocities), and thus he projects on Mohammed his own moral ideals, which he largely shares with his non-Muslim fellow-men. Because of his attachment to the mental image of a morally perfect Mohammed, he is shocked when he gets confronted with the real Mohammed who was a very violent man who committed every possible crime against humanity. Some muslims go in denial and others try to justify his brutalities while the thrird group calls it will of God and accept all.

Among the muslims on this forum Nazia belongs to the first group , Nuray is mostly the first group with a touch of second group while Zaidi, Mehmet and Mohammed belong to the third group (we did not get a hard core second grouper on this discussion). The fourth group are the apostates (like me) and the silent secularists who abandoned islam quietly after reading about historical Mohammed and realizing the absurdities of the holy book.
