I believe your conclusions are mistaken for several reasons. The Israeli public, burnt by Beilins' folly, brought Sharon in with a substantial plurality. Israelis' satisfaction with his first premiership led him to a landslide for a second. .He is now looked upon with even greater favour for what he has achieved in his second term .
In the latest polls his personal rating has shot up to 67%-forty seven points beyond the rating for his nearest rival .The country elected Sharon twice- and it would do so again - whatever party he chose to attach his name to. His party choice is almost irrelevant .Kadima will win because Sharon leads it.
Should Kadima win -it would be the first new party to do so-and that could alter its prospects for survival. Leo Solomon....a dedicated fan.
