Kadima: Sharon's Ego Party

Reader comment on item: Ariel Sharon, Escapist

Submitted by Frederick J. Bainhauer III (United States), Nov 29, 2005 at 01:09

Ariel Sharon is growing old, and his new party Kadima is this old lion's attempt to leave his legacy and mark on Israel. Sharon like many politicians is concerned that he will be forgotten by history.

Bill Clinton faced this very issue after he left the White House, and has searched ever since for a legacy to leave the American people. Sharon eho is in his 70s hopes to be the one to set Israel's final borders.

Sadly, Sharon will mostly be remembered as the one who weakened Israel's borders by giving up Gaza and portions of the West Bank to the Palestinians, as well as Israel's security zone in south Lebanon that was controlled by Israel and the mostly Christian SLA.

Sharon's desperate attempt to hold power by forming Kadima may or may not give Sharon the legacy he desperately wants.
