Pipes is clearly correct

Reader comment on item: Why Palestinians Need an Israel Victory

Submitted by John Jaffe (United States), Apr 3, 2018 at 13:37

Daniel Pipes' thoughtful, incisive and perceptive comments on the only workable solution for Mideast peace provide a compelling sensible framework, based on both history and current Realpolitik. If for no other reason, his ideas merit strong consideration since it's beyond obvious that the long-standing approach of the Israeli left of appeasement and concessions to the Palestinians simply hasn't worked at all.
The stark reality is the main barrier to peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors ISN'T "settlements", as Obama and his Lefty administration kept insisting (if that were the case, why were there so many Arab attacks on Israel BEFORE 1967, when there were NO settlements?), or the "brutal Israeli occupation" (kinder and gentler than ANY ruling Army in history according to neutral U.N. observers), but obviously continued Arab intransigence and irredentism.
As long as this narrative is allowed to persist and held out as possible, the Palestinians will continue to NOT recognize Israel and do everything in their power to continue trying not for peace but for elimination of Israel.

Time for the starry-eyed Lefties in Israel (and the large number worldwide who somehow feel empowered to dictate to Israel what their policies should be) to abandon clearly unsuccessful and unworkable pipedreams (so to speak), and embrace those attitudes and policies that have been the formula for successful resolution of pretty much every other conflict in history!
