Dear Dr pipes, you said that you take even nominal reform in Saudi Arabia enthusiastically. I agree. Any reformist thought in Islam even if it is done for a wrong reason is good. In India, a lot of Muslim religious and political leaders are forced to say nice things in praise of democracy when in front of media. I like that because their Muslim audience still get to hear the right thing. The listener does not often know whether the speaker is telling the truth or lying. Similarly, the people who get exposed to Saudi reforms will get a taste of the reforms without knowing the true reason behind them.
