It would have been so much easier to implement in 1948, as the Arab population was much smaller then than it is today. However, as I have mentioned before, it should only have been applied to the Muslim Arabs, not the Christians and Druse. Finally, the Muslims should at least be given the option to convert (to Christianity or Judaism) or leave. The Spanish gave them that opportunity after the reconquest of Spain in 1492.
