A rapidly changing universe

Reader comment on item: What Is Israel's Next Move In The New Middle East?
in response to reader comment: Israel Needs to Move in Only One Direction

Submitted by Abraham Irwin (United States), May 5, 2011 at 10:26

When we make comparisons, we must be sure that the underlying universe is not changing.

We can look at history and find that the Arab world for several centuries opposed the Crusaders and finally evicted them. Someone living though, in Palestine, both before and after the Crusaders, would not have found their existence all that different.

Just envision the changes, social, political and economic that have taken place in the West during the last century. Is there any reason not to expect similar changes elsewhere?
