Implications for the Kurds?Reader comment on item: Islamist Turkey Overreaches Submitted by Carmen Waggoner, Ph.D. (United States), Jun 8, 2010 at 11:10 Thank you for for a very clearly expressed assessment on Turkish "Islamism 2.0". Dr. Pipes has never been wrong in his assessments and predictions involving Islamism, and I believe he is right again. I would appreciate a response to the burning question of the Kurds: do they see/hope that an alliance with Turkish Islamism 2.0 might provide them the land they lost to Islamism 1.0? Or, is Turkey (Islamism 2.0) favorable to the Turks? I fear they may be used again and deceived by the Turks, as they have been by all the other factions that used them, and "turned their backs" on them. As for the rest of the world, I do believe that Islamism 2.0 could be even worse than Islamism 1.0, as Dr. Pipes predicts now.
