How would this solve anything?

Wouldn't this simple galvanize opposition to us, both inside of Iran, and in the rest of the Middle Eastern states? The entire situation needs a delicate touch and diplomacy, not just bombing whatever the hell we want to. Politics is the art of compromise. Why not try to work this out diplomatically instead of just automatically reaching for the military?
