Reader comment on item: Sarah Palin Endorses 'Bomb Iran'
in response to reader comment: I pray for Sarah Palin to be the next President of the USA

Mr. Bannerjee, our Muslim friend from India and obviously someone with a great deal of insight into international relations, and truly committed to bringing peace to the world, regardless of colour, creed or nationality, writes:

"I pray for Sara Palin to become the next president of the USA. The Islamic republic needs leaders like Bush Jr. and Sara Palin for surviving. I believe just that this will also help to turn the Russians , Chinese as well as the EU to fight against the US together."

A few questions for you, Mr Bannerjee. Which particular Islamic republic were you talking about?

The myth that the USA is the 'great satan' - is not really shared by anyone outside the Islamic world except for some tinpot dictators, seeking a scapegoat to deflect the attention from their own inadequate abilities to govern their own populations properly.

Things have moved on since the 1950's - Russia is no longer America's 'enemy'. Russia and the US have more in common than say either of those two countries and India. Race and religion two obvious examples. Similarly with the EU states. The EU would not attack the USA - too many ties - even you must be aware that Americans - as well as for the most part being directly descended from European peoples have a huge number of European immigrants and their 2nd and 3rd generations after WW2.

The only wild card is China - but being the good business people they are and having such a heightened sense of self-interest - they are not going to relish losing some of their best customers.

So, despite the rivalries between the big powers , you're pretty much on your own though together with the rest of the Islamic world in wishing ill upon the nation and people of the USA.

But this is to be expected with so many muslims leading such ignorant, miserable lives, unable to comprehend why their societies are at the bottom of the heap and always looking for someone to blame.

The politics of envy.

Why don't you blame allah instead?
