Isn't There a Catch as to Why No Other Country Except Israel Considers a First Strike a Good Option?

Reader comment on item: Sarah Palin Endorses 'Bomb Iran'

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Feb 11, 2010 at 19:46

Adding to the list of those who would deal a first-preemptory strike against a nuclear Iran, the endorsement of Sarah Palin does not alter the fact that such an action, no matter the extenuating circumstances that the United States may face, is not enough to pit the U.S. against a world just looking for a reason, any reason, to pan the U.S., and find such an excuse to sanction America.

Does anyone think that Russia is not going to take exceptions to the deaths of their own farsi speaking advisors? If we cannot get approval to put radar defense systems in the Czech Republic or Poland, what makes anyone think that starting a war on Russia's south porch is not going to have repercussions?

If anyone is pinning hopes on a Palin ticket, be careful what she will have to inherit if, in fact, there can be a resurgence of a more conservative government influence.
