Since D. Ata seems to be a Turkish correspondent, I'd be curious to know more of his view from Istanbul. When Erdogan said he was "Imam of Istanbul", he used terminology that is very unclear to people with little command of Turkish rhetoric and idioms. Is there further comment on what, exactly, such a phrase meant to Turkish listeners?
