Is Erdoğan smart and clever or EU leadership just plainly dumb? If I were in in charge, I would never had encouraged Turkey to even apply for membership to EU, and would have totally stopped getting any new Turkish immigrants into Germany. There are plenty of non-muslims who would love to immigrate to Europe. What is so special about muslims that they have to be admitted as immigrants?. I would have even banned the admission of relatives of old immigrants into Europe. But then I have no say in European politics.
