The Bible - The Koran
Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome – It's Now Official
in response to reader comment: Devout = devoted to what?

Submitted by Susan Browne (United States), Feb 12, 2008 at 14:17

Brian,

Both the Bible and Koran have violent passages for the disposal of unbelievers. Both have exquisite passages of love, kindness, and faith. The challenge is to identify divine direction which can only come from understanding "What is God REALLY like?"

The Bible says that everyone can see what God is really like in the lilies of the field, the birds, the seasons, and stars Some smart people can see what God is all about in quantum mechanics, others in Vivaldi's symphonies. The Koran - the Bible are clear - God formed the foundations of the universe upon order build on a foundation of love.

When a Hitler rattles his chain, or a Isama or the Spanish Inquisitor - they are an aborition against divine order and the flag under which they fly is unimportant.- like moles in a garden they must be eradicated, or the entire garden will be destroyed. This, too is love.

When you see hate, and disorder - God has left the room, if that room be a Church, a Mosque, a Synagoge or an Ashram.

"Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Deight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this; He will make righteousness shine like the dawn, and judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret not when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."
A little while, and the wicked will be no more; thoough you look for them, they will not be found, but the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace." Psalms 37: 1-7, 9.

As a young girl, I hid with my classmates under our desks to prepare for an imminent nuclear attack. It never came. Communism toppled - from within - who would have guessed.

Now we fear Islamic Fascists - they too will fall - when the time is right.

Trust God -

Love and blessings,

Susan Browne
