I propose another syndrome for many of the commentators above: OBSESS. It means 'Overcome By Sudden Enlightenment Syndrome Syndrome'. 'The Heart has its reasons that Reason doesn't know', I'm sure you all know the phrase. And another one as well: 'Fear is a bad adviser', and it is fear that incites the OBSESS-ed to generalize in such a grand way about 'all muslims'. It's utter nonsense to say that a religion makes potential murderers of all its adherents.
Unless one means that 'people' in general, for whatever reasons (religious or otherwise) can become murderers. With that I could agree. In my opinion there ís such a thing as 'sudden jihad syndrome', but it has a lot to do with an individual (mental) problem, or a complex of problems in combination with the 'accidental' ideology at hand, be it a religious or a secular one, which conveniently 'solves' all of these problems at once.
