Its not about religion...
Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome – It's Now Official
in response to reader comment: I was a muslim.

Submitted by Marco Hiirata (Malaysia), Feb 14, 2008 at 00:29

Dear Sir,

1stly, it is not my intention to call you stupid. It's a catch-phrase ala "its the economy stupid" utterred by one president during an election.

Personally, it is sad to read that there are people like you and many more so like you out there. This is the majority group of people whom I categorise as suffering from "my religion is superior than yours" syndrome which at the same time just fail look into their own selves.

It is amazing that we humans go about our daily lives without much thinking. As much as a religion generally debunks another, it is up to us to habitually evaluate ourselves vis-a-vis the book we believe in.

In my worldview, what bloody nonsense is there to judge or pre-judge other systems of beliefs when we ourselves doesn't follow our own book? There is no greater nonsense in a sensible mind to digest a situation where a man condemns other religions when at the same time does not understand his own book and practice the good things that the book suggests.

I uphold the view that there are many righteous and virtuous people in all religions, nations and cultures. Give me any book and I will still be a good man. Period.

Sir, I feel sorry for you. You said you were once a Muslim, now a Christian and contemplating Judaism. What a pitiful soul you are. Have you no faith in anything at all? You could have settled as a Christian and practice good values therein, instead your soul is turbulent and affected by events around you rather than inside of you.

I challenge all people of all faith to look into themselves and improve on the book you already have. You have perfect control over your souls. Have faith and do good. To yourselves and to others.

Isn't people like Mr Namdar here typically of the majority of all people that walk this planet? People who does not understand his own book at the same condemns other people whose book he himself further dont understand ....
