Addo Eijlsum, you write: " It's utter nonsense to say that a religion makes potential murderers of all its adherents."
Your statement is wrong when it comes to Islam. Quran teaches and asks Muslims to wage jihad and kill all non-believers, aka non-Muslims. It is written right in their "holy" book Quran. May be you should read those passages, specially the Madina ones, yourself before making this sweeping statement.
Muslims cannot disobey and denounce this order of allah if they were to remain a Muslim. Right from the ripe old age of 5 or 6 Muslim kids are taught Quran and to hate all non-Muslims, jews and christians and are also told to believe in the book completely. The "reward" or punishment for not obeying allah is eternal burning in hell in the afterlife!!! Now with this superstitious fear instilled in the Muslim DNA for not obeying allah, what do you think they have in their heart? Love for non-Muslims? Not!!
It's clear Islam makes all Muslims into non-thinking entity ready to kill to spread allah's rule. And they have been waging this holy war, jihad, against everybody in the world ever since the 7th century. So their is nothing "sudden" about jihad in a Muslim's. It's there in every Muslim's heart and mind. It flares up regularly in the form of 'sudeen jihad" incidents in the West on a regular basis. Most of the times the West regards these incidents as nothing more than some lunatic's criminal behavior disregarding the religious component of their behavior(and all Muslim apologists, politicians and MSM whole-heartedly support this thesis). But there is a reason behind these incidents by Muslims - and it is the sudden jihad syndrome that has been taught to them.
So it's utter nonsense to ignore the religious basis of Muslims' sudden jihad syndrome.
