As a muslim, you also seem to think that majority of your community has the same centrist attitude like you do. Oh how I wish it was true, but unfortunately what we see is otherwise. Even if I would like to think you are a "moderate" in true sense, your religious views are in direct confrontation with the constitution of the country you reside in and thereby you are not abiding by either one of them. Also minority muslims dont have much choice and many send out views like yours. Your views are so rare in a muslim majority country.
While in US you may support the idea of living in a democracy, given a choice, you will want your religious laws (sharia ) if you were in majority. I know personally many muslims with otherwise a decent level of intelligence but who totally agree Sharia would be the ideal constitution (religiously clouded judgements).
