Chasing our tailsReader comment on item: The Guantánamo Arrests – What Do They Mean? Submitted by John Maloney (United States), Oct 2, 2003 at 08:56 Daniel:I am repeatedly amazed at the lengths to which our government will go to avoid the appearance of unfairness in the war on terror. Thus we have the ridiculous image of eighty year old nuns having their denture cases inspected at airports so that no group can accuse us of "singling them out". But there is such a thing as rational, fact based discrimination. In the case of military chaplains, it is a foolish waste of time and resources to investigate ALL chaplains, when the population of potential problem chaplains is small and patently obvious.
