How Is This Not Terrorism?Reader comment on item: The Guantánamo Arrests – What Do They Mean? Submitted by Mary Ann Meier (United States), Oct 7, 2003 at 13:09 Dear Mr. Pipes,Please explain to me how Ms. Eltawani cannot connect the dots here. I'm puzzled also how Mr. Hamarneh can separate the issues in his following statement. Please help me understand, is this diversion? Do these two think the reader/listener is stupid, or are they (the speaker) stupid? Please do not mistake this for sarcasm, as I am following this subject closely and need some perspective. Your fan, Mary Ann Meier "Since Sept. 11, the Israelis have been able to introduce all this as part of the antiterror campaign and it's not," said Mustapha Hamarneh, director of the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan. "They are two separate things. Al Qaeda is one thing, and the West Bank and Gaza are something else."
