I lived in Israel for 20 years. Here in the U.S.A my friends and I are appalled at the ineffectual "political correctness" which prevents profiling Muslims at airports.
No one else is dealing in terrorism today. It is refreshing to see you put it out there that there is one group which needs to be watched more than others. Every time I see an 80 year old lady remove her shoes at an airport to go through a security gate, or a child have his toy taken away to be 'frisked' I am outraged.
The idea that in Iraq, America should put billions into 'rebuilding' the country is horrifying. When the Americans leave and the Muslim fundamentalists are left, what will have become of that huge investment? Afghanistan revisited?
What I don't understand, and what I dearly wish you would clarify, is why the world is so enamored of the Islamic fanatics? Why is everyone so ready to cater to their demands and afford them so much political safety, and dare I say it, validation and respect? You only have to look at Arafat.....and he's local! Why does the west pander to them?
We are so very disheartened by how things are going in Israel, and it's only getting worse, from both sides. I am afraid we are losing Israel entirely and that will be a tragedy the world may never recover from.
