There once was a time and a place...Reader comment on item: Saudi Arabian Airlines Cleans Up Its Act Submitted by Seamus MacNemi (United States), Sep 2, 2007 at 08:04 The Caliphate of alAndalus in tenth century Spain. There was a glory day for all religions when learned men came from many lands in love for G-D and openly discussed their various experiences and differing points of view for the benefit of all. There was no enmity amongst them, but only the heartfelt love of G-D. Each to his own way of understanding could speak his piece and none would be rejected or ridiculed. It was a true renaisance of civilization and humanity in an age of seemingly perpetual darkness of the spirit in other parts of the world. alAndalus was an island of sanity in a world gone mad. A place of great beauty and peace. BUT,ALAS, it was destroyed by the extremists of both Islam and Christianity in the pursuit of political power.
