Reader comment on item: Saudi Arabian Airlines Cleans Up Its Act
in response to reader comment: Fight the cause --not just the symptoms

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Sep 6, 2007 at 16:45

I heartily agree with you about fighting the cause, not the symptoms, but where to start? Now the terrorists have us over a barrel with the new terror threat for the anniversary of 9/11. Are they or aren't they going to attack us again? Even if we believe that another attack is on the way, no one can know exactly where or when it may occur, so we are running around like headless chickens, trying to find out what evil is planned next and nobody really knows any more than we did on 9/10.

Fighting such an evil ideology as fundamental Islam is proving much more difficult than originally thought. Since an ideology such as this cannot be seen or heard, it is like a new invisible monster wreaking havoc and destruction in its path. This evil is viable, but the real problem is making this evil visible and catching it before it does more harm. Obviously we haven't yet hit on the right methods to crush this monster; somewhere there has to be the right solution.
