Reader comment on item: A Critical Moment For Turkey
in response to reader comment: Natural allies of the USA and contradiction with recent articles by Dr Pipes

Dr Pipes,

I understand your fear from his Muslim background. Neverheless, you did not provide convincing facts to support your descrption of "Islamist". I also understand that maybe you know something people do not know which you do not wish to share in supporting your description. That thing is perhaps what I think about. If so is the case, I believe that the Islamization of moderate leaders conveys that the other party is using the conspiracy theory in the debate and tends to judge the would-be ideas rather than judging the deeds -which are completely secular in the case of Turkey`s MP. The best way to close a debate is to judge rather than debate the ideas. All of us know that as time is going, the urgency for debate is high and the utility of action has been proven a failure.

Thanks indeed,

I have no secret information, am looking at the same data as anyone else. I laid out the two sides of the argument in "Is Turkey Going Islamist?"
