Reader comment on item: A Critical Moment For Turkey
in response to reader comment: So the US hurt Europe?

If you had, you might have seen that predictions I made 3 years ago are coming true. All I did was comment that Dr Pipes, groping to fathom the State Department's idiotic mode of thinking is suggesting that their actions may bring the opposite effect. Obviously praising Islam brings a greater pressure to Isalmize. When Bush says Islam is a culture of peace when Darfur is drowing in blood, that is plain stupidity, not elliptical thinking.

Generally when you lie, the opposite comes true, and when Bush encourages "democracy" among Arabs who have never known or welcomed democracy all he can get is Hamas which is a malign autocracy. The Politically correct double-speak is the Wests greatest failing. If Bush had said "evidence shows that Islam is a culture of death and bloody Imperialism and we shall not allow anyone espousing that faith to reach here" he would have been excoriated though every word is true. So when looking for the truth you must upend the speeches. For example, if you want to drive the Arabs away from the Land of Israel and please the peace-mongerers at the same time you espouse a fence, supposedly for good neighborliness, which creates so much tension they would rather leave than live with it. That's Ariel Sharon thinking.
