Metal Firtina - the new smash hit

Reader comment on item: A Critical Moment For Turkey
in response to reader comment: " Turks give NOT ONE FIG about America's "vision for Turkey"" - Isn't it an understatement ?

Who cares, right? The Cold War is over. Turkey is stronger than it was thirty years ago. It doesn't need the US anymore.

Turkey, careful what you wish for. You just might get it. Americans might decide they couldn't care less about Turkey and the rest of the Muslim world and just ignore it. No one from a Muslim nation would be allowed even to enter the US. The UN will be thrown out and sent to Mecca. How would that be - a gaggle of infidel diplomats in a Muslim-only city? We might figure there's no use in throwing good money after bad. As a bonus, we would reclaim a piece of prime real estate for the benefit of Americans.

The Turks are not our friends and they haven't been for a long time. Our government bureaucrats might not like to admit it, but the people know. Our media and Hollywood would just love to get their hands on this Turkish bestseller. It's the kind of movie they love to make - America as the villain. It will sweep the awards in Cannes, Hollywood and wherever else movie awards are given out. Someone needs to translate it pronto. There's money to be made. Metal Firtina - the new smash hit.
