Reader comment on item: Militant Islam's New Strongholds

Submitted by C.Vazquez (United States), May 17, 2003 at 10:46

Let us get down to the nitty gritty. What is the reason for the Militant Moslems?

Why are they behaving this way? Is it because they are just "evil?" Or is it because they're crazy? And just what is a terrorist, anyway? What is a "terrorist" to you?

Most of the suicide bombers are poor devils, "grunts"- footsoldiers in an organization that nets them up. But what is the ideal behind the poor devils actions?

Now one has to have an open mind about this and look at pros and cons, instead of swallowing the American general media's reports and the word of the current government and the President of the White House.

Granted, behind the suicide bombers are huge organizations that fund these acts - but what is the raison d'etre of the lone bomber? I'll tell you the source. .. One man's "terrorist" is another's "Freedom Fighters." In truth, the world is responsible for the existence of AL-Quaida.

We are the creators of Al-Quaida. And "terrorism" will never end as long as we don't finally address the issue of Israel and Palestine and allow the Arabs some of the kind of justice,. and fairness and peace that we would like for ourselves....

Thank you.
