Reader comment on item: Militant Islam's New Strongholds

Kudos to Mr. Pipes and the critical, intelligent commentary by all of you on this site. It amazes me every single day how clueless so many people are as to the threats we face.
Many millions of Americans still do not understand the most basic tenant of human conflict: Know Your Enemy! The liberal scourge of this nation perpetuates poisonous myth after myth. Political correctness would be a great example. We are more concerned about 'racial profiling' (i.e. inconveniencing anyone who remotely looks like an Arab) than we are with the safety of innocent American men, women, and children.
I only pray that so many more innocent Americans do not have to be murdered before our country finally understands: Militant Islamists want more than anything to kill us, all of us!!! What else do you need to know? Open a history book if you don't believe me.

This enemy cannot be reasoned with. Their hearts and minds cannot be won. They must be hunted and killed in droves. The war of hearts and minds must be directed in other areas, at other Muslims that can be reasoned with.

I am reminded of what an unknown Holocaust survivor said after being liberated from Auschwitz. (paraphrasing here) "The greatest crime of the Germans is that they taught us how to hate." For the first time in my life, I understand this statement fully.

It is a sad thing to have hatred in your heart. But this enemy, the terrorists that only extreme Islam can create, has done that.

May God protect this great nation, a nation while flawed, is at its heart moral and decent. May He give our leaders the strength to see this fight through and annihilate this enemy who epitomizes evil. At the same time I pray he gives them the wisdom to understand what Muslim people/nations are not truly our enemies, those whose hearts and minds can be 'changed'. The stakes could not be higher.
