Wilfred Cantwell Smith's remarks

Reader comment on item: Muslims "Lagging Behind"

Submitted by H Mark Rosenwass (United States), Dec 26, 2006 at 17:13

An extention of Dr. Smith's remarks is an explanation of Muslim hatred of Israel. Arab society is based upon family, tribe and the cultural imperative that a shame of either must be revenged. This, incidently was the thoughts expressed in "The Closed Circle, " by David Pryce Jones. The backwardness of Islam today is their shame. Israel, with its accomplishments in all the areas mentioned in the article, becomes a shame for the world of Islam. In their thought process, Israel must be destroyed as a revenge.
