Two causes of Islamic prosperity: Plundering and oil

Dear Dr Pipes, Islamic armies have plundered and destroyed nations throughout the history of Islam. This plundering started when Muhammad was alive and continued till the modern times. Only in the last hundred or so years outright robbing of some nations at the hands of other has significantly reduced in our world.

If we have to credit divine intervention, then, probably, we can give credit to God to give so much oil wealth to Muslim nations. If oil wealth was not there Islamic nations would have been in a very different shape. In fact, if there was no oil wealth had not been there, Saudi Arabia would have resembled Somalia.

I completely agree that barring these two factors, Islamic world has nothing to show for itself.
