Strange logic in the minds of the media: morons and oxymorons

Reader comment on item: Strange Logic in the Lebanon War

Author George Orwell called it "Doublespeak," in his novel "1984." I would venture to guess that even Orwell would be at a loss for words how the MSM (Main Stream Media) continuallly wrenches all logical meaning from what they say.

Let's take, for example,.why Israel has a problem with Indonesia, Mayalsia, and Bangladesh supplying troops to the "peace keeping force" (an oxymoron) to Lebanon. While the major three networks obscured the facts, at least FOXNEWS got it right tonight. NBC, ABC, and CBS said that Israel objected because (quote) "these countries do not have DIPLOMATIC TIES with Israel." They might as well have said, "twist ties," instead. Meanwhile, FOXNEWS correctly stated that (quote) "these countries are Muslim and do not recognize Israel's right to exist."

Three guesses what these countries' troops would do in the event of a Hezbollah attack. Give CBS a point for reminding viewers what happened the last time peacekeepers were sent to Lebanon (241 Americans murdered, 68 French murdered). Take away two points for saying that the acts were "ALLEDGEDLY committed by Hezbollah." That is like saying "Osama Bin Laden was alledgedly responsible for 9/11." Hezbollah claimed responsibility, and the US, France, and Britian concurred, so why be demure?

Once again, only scenes from Lebanon were shown with none from Israel -- except, again, for FOXNEWS. The only things wackier than what the MSM is saying is what is posted on the leftist blogs by aphasic Americans. how else can you explain someone saying that the IDF has army camps in civilian areas, and that is what Hezbollah was really aiming at. I've given up watching the news on TV. From now on, I'll stick to credible, writrten sources like this one.
