One reason why the media is one sided

Reader comment on item: Strange Logic in the Lebanon War

Submitted by bernard ross (Jamaica), Aug 16, 2006 at 11:49

The CNN in baghdad did not wish to relinquish their exclusive position of being able to report from within the war zone therefore they intentionally misreported the news. If they do not report satisfactorily to the arab cause they will lose their ability to report from the zone but more importantly they will lose hundreds of millions of muslim and arab listeners which of course translates into profits.

The BBC is heavily invested in the arab and muslim world as they have hundreds of millions of viewers throughout muslim world. In the end it comes down to dollars and satisfying the desires of their customers. Furthermore, most of the news services are subcontracted out to local participants, in places like Lebanon and Gaza, who of course are prejudiced.
