This is not a change how the world views and reacts to the logic of war. As long as the military/terror group does not seem hurt and the population is portrayed as wronged by the enemy, moral and antigonism are kept high - which is the purpose of the propaganda war delivered by AP and Reuters.

In WWII, the US media described how bad the enemy was but hid photos and facts with regards to casualties. So in that sense, bringing this issues in comparison only shines a light on the intent of the two major news agencies and not on a "new" strange logic.
